About us

Moggey was founded in 1998 by James and Philip Van der Reyden, artists/filmmakers from Wellington New Zealand. As brothers and collaborators, they aspire to make entertaining and enjoyable-to-watch work in the motion picture mediums.

Most of their time is spent at Weta Digital, contributing their skills to help make really wicked, cutting edge and generally awesome visual effects for the film industry.

The essential intention they had in creating Moggey was to basically create an identifying brand for the various projects and work they do. As Moggey, they engage in extra curricular projects of their own in the areas of Indy filmmaking development, photography, graphic design and music production.

They are very proud to be part of the rich creative community here in Wellington (and New Zealand at large), and Moggey is their way of making a worthwhile and meaningful contribution to this vibrant scene, which they have been part of for over 10 years now.

This website and blog is their window to the world, for anyone who is interested in keeping up to date with what they have been doing.
